How this calculator works
Age & hourly rate
Children are eligible from the term after turning 2. Non‑funded hours are billed at £11/hr.
Billing model
38 weeks per year ÷ 3 terms. Termly cost = weekly total × 38 ÷ 3.
Funded hours
EYFS funding covers basic childcare hours. Extras (meals, activities, consumables) must be itemised separately and cannot be bundled into funded hours. Funding is allocated sequentially Monday → Friday, within each day in time order (8–9, 9–12, 12–3, 3–5).
Extras (funded days only)
Breakfast £3.50/day · Snacks £2–3/day · Lunch meal £6.50/day (if 12–3 funded) · Consumables £3–4.50/day · Specialist & Montessori activities £6.50/day.
How extras are calculated
Extras apply to funded attendance only. Parent‑paid hours are private hours where extras are included. Snacks & consumables: 0–1 funded hrs = £0, 2–<3 = half rate, ≥3 = full rate (9am–5pm hours only). Lunch charged only if 12–3 is funded. Activities charged if any 9am–5pm hour is funded.
